Cleveland Ohio is located on the southern shore of Lake Erie. It is the center of Greater Cleveland the largest metro area in Ohio which spans several counties. Lake Erie produces large amounts of snow each year until late January or early February when the lake freezes. Cleveland is corporate headquarters to many large companies and is a world leader in health care and health services. The areas largest employer, The Cleveland Clinic is one of the highest ranked hospitals in the U.S. The city is emerging as a leader in biotechnology and fuel cell research. Case Western Reserve University, a world-renowned research and teaching institution is located in the city along with six other colleges and universities. Cleveland is home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the world renowned Cleveland Orchestra. Playhouse Square Center is home to the theater district and both the opera and ballet. Cleveland has three professional sports teams including the Cleveland Indians. Cleveland has two airports, Cleveland Hopkins International and Burke Lakefront. Amtrak provides rail service for Cleveland in addition to the Greyhound bus service in and out of the city. Cleveland has an extensive highway system including I-71, I-77, I-90, I-490, I-480, Ohio 2, U.S. 6 and 20.
